The trend to stage a home for sale is catching on, definitely appealing, and comes at a price. A price that ranges upwards of $1000 per month, of course depending on the extent of staging required.
There are advantages to staging undoubtedly. It makes for a good first impression, and often the lasting one. Helps individuals visualize how the home would look, lived in. Not something everyone can do as easily with empty spaces. However, personal perceptions are exactly that. What works for the goose, does not necessarily work for the gander. That is a chance the Stager, Realtor and Seller must take.
On the flip side, the money spent on staging could well be invested in simple upgrades to the home, which will have a long term benefit to the discerning buyer. A new coat of paint, a new counter top, new appliances perhaps? That maybe the more prudent choice.
